Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
Donation protected
On 20th May 2017 I will be climbing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in 12 hours to raise money to aid the research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is a condition my cousin Charlie has.
Duchenne is a muscle wasting condition which affects about 1 in 3,500 newborn males & for the sufferers of this horrible condition, they will lose independant mobility around age 8-11. Affected boys are normally confined to a wheelchair by 12 years of age and die from respiratory or cardiac complications in their 20s or 30s. Severity and progression vary between individuals.
The money I raise will be split in half. Half will go to aid the research of the condition & the other half will go into a fund for Charlies care & future adaptaion needs.
I am extremely nervous about this challenge as I am majorly unfit, but it is for a great cause & for people with this condition this is something they will never be able to do.
Please donate whatver you can to support Charlie & others affected! Thank you!
