UPDATE: As of April 27th, the flights to and from Joburg are paid. Yay!!! Many thanks to all of you who helped make this trip possible. I will keep this GoFundMe open for the duration of my trip in case anyone wishes to make small contributions towards my expenses while there, which should not be anything astronomical. Accommodations plus breakfast and lunch are already covered by the program.

My name is Carolyne Mas . I am a former recording artist and lifelong musician, who is currently an honors student with a 4.08 GPA enrolled at Arizona State University, where I am a full-time student pursuing a BS in Integrative Health, and I was recently inducted into the National Society for Collegiate Scholars's ASU chapter. I am also a member of the  Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society , and have been awarded a scholarship to attend the International Scholar Laureate Program for Nursing and Healthcare in Johannesburg, South Africa , this coming May. A sample of the itinerary can be seen by clicking here .

This $3000 scholarship from PTK covered most of my tuition, and as of April 3rd, the rest of the tuition has been paid off in full thanks to GoFundMe and PayPal donations which were made by both fans and friends. I am now concentrating on rasing funds to cover the cost of the flights, which can range anywhere from $1500 to $2700. The earlier I book, the better. I need to leave on the 14th of May, less than one month away.

Those of you who are familiar with my music and who have been following my career for years, know how very hard I have been working to take my life in this new and exciting direction. This trip means the world to me, and it is an honor to have been invited to attend.

After a week of mourning my brother's death, I am back to raising funds in order to attend the International Scholar Laureate Program in Health and Nursing in South Africa this May. Although I received a scholarship from the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, it does not cover all of the costs.

I am once again posting my GoFundMe for the International Scholar Laureate Program in South Africa this May. I have received a scholarship that covers some of the cost, but not all of it.

With thanks for your music, and those great shows at JB Scott's in Albany, New York long long ago.
