HELP TO SAVE NEWRY BEACH PROMENADE AND GREENS,HOLYHEAD, ISLE OF ANGLESEY NORTH WALES.
The historic Newry Beach and greens have been a favourite place for local people and visitors alike to relax, walk, picnic and take in the wonderful views across the marina and harbour to the Great Breakwater and Skerries beyond. Its a special place where everyone and anyone can enjoy. the peace and tranqulity An atmospheric place for the senses, Where you can experience amazing sunset.
THIS UNIQUE BEACH IS IN DANGER OF BEING DESTROYED BY DEVELOPERS, ENVELOPING IT IN A CURTAIN OF CONCRETE.FIVE STOREY APARTMENT BLOCKS,NO BEACH
The Waterfront Action Group was established to Save our Seafront ( Visit www.newrybeachholyhead.co.uk) In 2014 we applied for the area to be registered as a Town and Village green.If successful it means the propsed Waterfront development cannot go ahead.
In May 2016 it was announced that our application merits a Non-Statutory Public Inquiry.The inquiry will assist the registration authority ( The isle of Anglesey County Council)to determine whether the Newry area can legally be registered as a Town & Village green. To optimise our chance of sucess we need to engage the services of a specialist barrister present our case at the inquiry.This is where we need your help.
