Elizabeth Ramirez was diagnosed on July 11th of this year with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This is a form of cancer that accumulates in the bone marrow which affects the production of normal blood cells. She started chemotherapy immediately in order to help contain the disease while she seeks a stem cell match which would ultimately be her best chance of survival. She is a young woman who has a lot to live for. One of the most important reasons being her three amazing sons.

Elizabeth is a 30 year old single mother of three beautiful boys. Exavier is 7 years old, Evan is 3 and her youngest Ean is just 22 months. Elizabeth has been hospitalized for the majority of the past couple of months, which has left her unable to take care for the boys. They are staying with family while she undergoes treatment and they visit when they can. As if the diagnosis isn't difficult in of itself, being seperated from her boys has been devistating. The main objective is to find Elizabeth a stem cell match that would give her the best chance of survival. Family members have been tested already and unfortunatly are not a match. According to the doctors that are currently treating her, finding a match would give her a 60% chance of survival which is better than the 5% given without a transplant. She has been entered into the donor database and is at the top of the list awaiting a donor.
Elizabeth has such a great spirt and positive attitude and most importantly, the will to live. While being hospitalized, she has called together people closest to her to organize events at her church and son's school, in hopes that a match will turn up sooner. Her take-charge attitude and optimism radiates and her smile is beyond infectuous. If only we could all share this attitude in times of adversity.

As we all know, cancer is extremely costly. We ask that you would consider opening your hearts to this courageous young woman as she faces the battle of a lifetime. All donations will be used for her care, treatments, and for the costs of creating donor drives to try to find her a match as soon as possible.
