Support Brad Benedict's transplant

Donation protected
Many people know my brother in law Brad Benedict but not as many people know his story. About 4 years ago he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition after several accidents that almost took his life. He at 40 was diagnosed with Cardiac sarcoidosis. A rare and very unknown condition that causes inflammation of the heart and in his case has caused his heart to stop on multiple occasions. There have been many trials over the last 4 years for my brother in law and his family with his condition and they have done an amazing job keeping their heads above water and pushing through this difficult time. Unfortunately, over the last two months his condition has worsened to the point he is meeting with the transplant team and looking at having a heart transplant done as soon as one becomes available. That being said there is an overwhelming burden that comes with that not only emotionally but financially. Brad lives almost three hours from his amazing team of doctors at University of Washington. With a transplant in the near future that means weekly trips to Seattle and overnight stays as well as an up rise in medical costs and medications. If anyone has known someone who has had a transplant you may know the expense of antirejection medications that go along with it. The funds raised will go to assist with Brad being able to make his doctor's appointments, food and housing while in Seattle for his family to be there to support him emotionally, and to help with the cost of pricey medications and medical bills incurred. Brad has never been one to accept any help but he is the one who is always willing to give the shirt off his back for anyone who needs a hand. So, in this most difficult time for him and his family I have set up a Go Fund Me account with his approval to assist in the upcoming transplant costs. Brad has been unable to work due to his condition for almost 4 years and his wife just this summer was accepted into the nursing program at Peninsula College and will be starting the Fall of 2016 and will not be able to work during that time. They have two amazing children, a son who is 16 and a daughter who is 13. If you know this family you know this has been a difficult time for them. If you have been lucky enough to have received their help when you were in need, well let's pay it forward and help them when they are in their most difficult time. If you do not know them, know that you will be helping a young family more then you will ever know. This will mean the world to them to see the love and support of family, friends, their community and strangers. If you can't donate please spread the word and share this page. Prayers and words of encouragement also go a long way during this difficult time and upcoming recovery that Brad will have. Thank you and so much for all your kindness
