My Return To Miss Gay America 2017

As many of you know, this past year has been full of changes for me. I made some very scary/difficult choices that were necessary and in hindsight, long overdue !
Im calling it my year of change....in the theme of change, after 16 years I've decided to returm to the Miss Gay America system. It's also a year of change for the system itself , which makes the timing seem so perfect for me. I love to compete and I'd certainly love to win. I'm excited to see what the rest of this year brings.
The Miss Gay America system was one of my very first National contests. I competed in 2001, as the very first Miss Gay Minnesota America....I thought I did really well, placing 14th overall. I often credit my experience at that years contest, with the relatively successful pageant carrer that has followed. I got a feel for female impersonation and pageantry that year, that has never left me...it quickly developed into a passion...I love to COMPETE, I love to ENTERTAIN, I love to INSPIRE, I love to LEAD....and this year I'm hoping to wrap all that passion up in a winning package and become the next Symbol Of Excellence...Miss Gay America 2017.
I took the first step towards this goal on August 18, when I went to Dallas, TX, to compete in a regional qualifying preliminary pageant, where I was crowned
Miss Gay Southwest America 2016.... It was a great contest, with 5 amazing contestants. I'm elated to be representing them at the National contest October 5-9, in Memphis, TN. For more info on the national contest you can go to www.missgayamerica.com
As we all know pageants are not cheap, especially when done right..lol....So I'm asking anybody that can help to give what you can in support of my dream of becoming Miss Gay America...The aspects of competing that I need the most help with are those that are not tangible. I'm traveling with a team of 12 people to Memhis, between dancers and a back stage assistant. Airfare and hotel alone for 12 people will be quite signifigant. I will also have to rent transportation for stage set/etc... so yeah..its gonna get super spendy, so I need your help if you have it to give...
As a thank you , anyone that donates $50 or more, I will ship you one of my prayer candles...it's a great little promotional item...It's an actual pillar sized prayer candle featurng an artists redering of myself on one side, and a "Drag Queen" version of the Serenity Prayer, that i wrote myself, on the other.
