Help US Marine Veteran Josh White realize his dream to become the first USMC member in history to race in one of NASCARs top 3 Series. We are trying to get Josh the funding needed to compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck race @ Martinsville on October 29th 2016 and run the entire race and finish! Josh has been approved by NASCAR to race and a team has offered their race truck for him to live his dream and be behind the wheel for practice, qualifying and hopefully the race. Josh needs at least 4 sets of tires, a custom built race seat, a NASCAR license, physical and other testing, entry fee, travel expenses and additional engine parts to improve his true chance to qualify, and finish in a NASCAR race! Any amount you or your company donates, $5 , $10, $20, $100 or $1,000 will help and in return, Josh will put your name on his race truck and make his fellow Veterans proud as he races into history in front of the nation that all U.S. Troops have selflessly served with honor, courage, and sacrifice! Oorah!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mooresville, NC (July 27, 2016) -  United States Marine Corp (USMC) Veteran and Charleston, West Virginia native Josh White has dreamed of racing in NASCAR for as long as he can remember. His opportunity will come this October 29th at the Martinsville Speedway NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Alpha Energy Solutions 200. After serving in the USMC for five years, Lance Corporal Josh White resumed his struggling career in racing dirt late models with 12 starts in which he earned 10 Top 5's and 5 feature victories as well as 19 ARCA Racing starts. Known as "White Lightning" in his hometown, White will attempt to qualify the#10 Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing (JJCR) Chevrolet.  Cobb, who supports our nation's military through her Driven2Honor.org non-profit charity, is excited to grant a U.S. Marine the opportunity to race her truck at Martinsville.  This historic event makes White the first Marine to become a NASCAR national touring series driver.  White is currently on Ready Reserve (IRR) duty for the USMC.

The opportunity to race at the NASCAR level came about when JJCR Business Development representative and Driven2Honor Board Member, David Pack, a Gulf-War Veteran, came upon White’s Facebook plea for help in raising funds to race.  Pack recognized White’s frustration and his unique stance as a Marine and thought he could work through JJCR to make White’s dream come true.

“Dave (Pack) was excited at the thought of having a Marine race their truck,”  said White.  “We have been working together for the past month and have already secured enough funding to attempt my first NASCAR race!”  “When I spoke with Jen she explained that success in NASCAR is dependent on quality of equipment and that she would give me this opportunity and put any sponsor money I could raise into my effort.  I feel like this is a place where I can gain experience and be of help to the entire organization.”

Response to White’s mission has been encouraging - he has already secured a primary partner, to be announced, that will allow him to attempt to qualify at Martinsville. He is still working diligently to find more funding, whether through corporate sponsorships or individual donations, so that he can have the best effort possible.

"It is an honor to be working with Josh and I have never met a driver with more enthusiasm or more work ethic,” says Cobb. “Like any disciplined Marine, instead of complaining that nobody is giving him an opportunity to race, he is earning it and that hard work is paying off.  We are proud to be part of this very special history.”
