Help victims of Sri Lanka bombings
-Incident and Current situation-
As you may already know, Sri Lanka has been rocked by the recent Easter Sunday suicide bombings, which left hundreds of deaths. At least, 250 people were killed and over five hundred wounded in these series of cowardly attacks.
The calm of Easter Sunday was shattered by gruesome bombings which killed innocent civilians by making it one of the horrific days in recent history.
As per our recent conversation with some villagers in the Negombo area, there are some families who require immediate financial support. Therefore, we have created an event together with fund raising campaign. The goal of this campaign is to provide with some financial support to at least 3 selected families who are severely affected by these tragic events.
-Organizing Team-
Doctors in Geelong VIC, we are deeply saddened by the tragic event that unfolded in the hometown where our relatives live. Hence, we decided to put up this fundraiser to support the families impacted by this tragedy.
- Dispersing of Funds-
The families who need immediate financial support will be selected by the leadership of a Katuwapitiya church in Negombo and the members of Doctors Group in Geelong will be responsible for the distribution of funds to the affected families. All funds raised, except any GoFundMe processing fees, will be donated directly to the victims of the bombing to help support people affected. The target is set to $5 000, hoping to exceed this goal and support more victims affected by this tragic event.
