On the evening of August 19, 2016 the Sheffield's were on vacation in Cocan, TX. While mom and dad were unloading groceries from the car their 3 year old son, Rory Antley Sheffield, decided to go exploring.

It wasn't very long at all when mom noticed Rory was not around. It was then mom saw something no parent should ever have to see, Rory somehow snuck past the old children playing outside and somehow got inside the fence which surrounded the swimming pool. Rory was found unconscious in the pool.

Dad and others removed Rory from the pool and began revival efforts until first responders arrived. Rory was revived and eventually transported to Methodist Childrens Hospital in San Antonio.

Rory is fighting with everything he has and the doctors are giving it their all to keep this little boy here with us. Rory is not showing any brain activity at this time but we are staying positive and have given it all to God.

The Sheffield family are an amazing family. Dad (Jason), is a small business owner and he honorably served our Country through the Marine Corps. Mom (Sherry), is an awesome stay at home mom. Sherry is home schooling Rory's older brother and sister, Lorelei and Jae and also works in the business. Rory also has another older brother, Cody, who just graduated high school.

The reason I have created the campaign is to take the monetary burden off of Rory's mom and dad. The last thing Jason and Sherry should be worrying about right now is where the next house note is coming from or how they will be able to keep the lights on at home. Again, Jason is a small business owner and if he's not at work the family has no money coming in.

100% of the money raised will go directly to Jason and Sherry.

For those wondering who I am, my name is Ian. Jason and I met in the law enforcement academy and since then he was the best man at my wedding and is my best friend. I am heart broken as I type this and there is nothing I can do or say to ease their pain right now, I'm just trying to ease their financial burden so they can focus on what is important right now.

Please SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!

Sincerely,
Ian

I ask everyone to say extra prayers and keep Jason, Sherry, Cody, Lorelei and Jae in your thoughts through this day as today is the day they had to leave their angle's side for the first time. Thank you to everyone that has supported this family and continues to support this family. They mean so much to me and many others.

I am speechless with the amount of support yall have given to this family. There is nothing I can say that will express the gratitude I have for each and every one of you that has stepped up to the plate with either donating, sharing this page or both. I can speak for the family when I say this means more than anyone can express in words. Even though we've surpassed the original and updated goals I can not express enough that it is still crucial we continue this effort by sharing this page (digitally and verbally) with everyone we know.

I would also like to invite everyone to a prayer circle/candle lighting event on August 28th at 5:30pm at the Sweeny Prayer Garden.

Rory Antley Sheffield has earned his wings and flew to heaven today. We have all been praying for that one miracle and after speaking with Jason today he informed me that although it was not the miracle we all had in mind, a miracle did come today. Please continue keeping this family in your thoughts and prayers.

I want to thank everyone that has contributed to this cause so far but our work is not done here. As you can imagine this family's needs just increased tremendously. I ask everyone to please help share this page page frequently so that the family's grieving process is not troubled by any financial burdens.

So, you don't know me, but - this one hits a bit closer to home in the fact that your good friend (massage therapist in RR TX) shared this story with me, perhaps under the notion that someone in my profession as a LEO could better process the news of your sweet, silver-winged angel's passing. If this was my child, however, it would make me feel better knowing this is actually NOT any easier to handle for any walk of life, really, because children should know no darkness, no suffering, and they should certainly never see an afterlife before their elders. And nobody wants to feel they suffer alone and that nobody feels deep pain with them. I will have you know that I mourn with you. I stand by your side. But that proverbial "SILVER lining" people often speak of.........well, it's there because of YOU. I also came to understand that you are the selfless kinds of parents who made a very difficult decision on behalf of sweet Rory recently: to provide a second chance to others through organ donation as gifted by your silver-winged, golden-haired angel, which is priceless in and of itself. You are clearly special people with a special purpose, and your silver-winged angel will live on forever in the hearts and minds of so many family members because of your generous gifts. Little Rory?? Please tell your mommy and daddy that you WILL see them again one day....and that, in the meantime, you are still here with us - keeping a close watch over all of the broken hearts left behind in your wake, as there are too many to count. I can just see you now, riding off into the sunset in your own special little fire truck....ride on, sweet, precious, beautiful, generous, fiery, spirited, little fireman. Ride on..... xoxo
