My name is Deena and my dad is Jim Deuter.
My dad was diagnosed in August 2016 with cancer. He lost his battle and joined our Lord in Heaven December 1st 2016.
Jim was the happiest man I know, he loved playing pranks on us. My fondest memory is when we lived in Colorado, it was during the wintertime and Jim was at his all-time high of pranks. He loved the fact that our mailbox was a good trek through the trees to the adjacent road. I was the official mail gatherer which included a very logical feeling of paranoia. It never failed that I would be on the hike back to the house when a tree was kicked just as I walked under it, showering piles of cold wet snow down my back, in my boots and coating my hair, this was followed by the laughter of my dad thinking he was all too funny.

He was notorious for great stories, adventures, and a life most would only dream of. My parents were always on some sort of family adventure leaving no weekend to boredom.

Our family is devastated by the loss and left with a huge financial obligation. We are so grateful full for all of your continued support in our time of need.

Thank you for your donations and prayers during this difficult time.

I am Jim's Daughter and I created this campaign for him when he was going through Chemo. Unfortunately he passed away December 1st. I am trying to get the funds to my mother (his wife) whom is disabled and lives with us. She will be using the funds to pay off his medical expenses.

Our family is deeply saddened to inform you that Jim passed away in last night. As many of you know, he has been suffering from esophageal cancer for some time now. We are relieved that his passing was peaceful and painless. We will keep you up to date on arrangements. His wishes will be met by having his remains spread in both South Dakota and Alaska.
Please continue support with your prayers in our time of need.

So sorry for your loss. Jim was a great guy. Being raised here in Alaska my exposure to ranching is very limited. I loved hearing his stories and even seeing videos he had of his adventures with his cows. I am glad I got to know him. I will continue to keep your family in prayer.

That picture of Jim shows his kind and gentle nature. What an impact he left in this world. We'll remember his great sense of humor and what a great friend, husband and father he was.
