Allyn's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Allyn J. Hanson passed away peacefully on the morning of June 1 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was 56. Because Allyn made his home in Chicago and wanted to be laid to rest with his family in Menomonee Falls, we have planned a weekend of events in Illinois and Wisconsin. We invite all of Allyn’s friends and family to join in celebrating his life at any of these planned gatherings (please don't feel like you need to attend everything):

Allyn Hanson, father of Nicholas, brother to Gail, Tom, Ken and Ron, and friend to all those who encounter him, is undergoing the fight for his life.

In May 2013, Allyn was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma. Since then, Allyn has undergone several treatments which included an intravenous medicine, called Retuxan, as well as, radiation and chemotherapy.

More recently, in June 2016, Allyn learned his cancer transformed into a much more aggressive cancer, Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. As a result, Allyn will need to undergo a stem cell transplant to rebuild his immune system.  The process will require him to reside in a hospital isolation unit for approximately three-four weeks. Afterwards, he may move out of the hospital and into hospital housing, which will provide a sterile place for him to heal.  Ultimately, it will likely take six months for Allyn's immune system to rebuild.

Today, Allyn's friends and relatives are reaching out to help make his treatment plan a reality. He needs your help to afford the necessary medical treatments and care needed during this crucial fight.  He will need cutting edge technology, costly prescriptions, continuous nursing care, a sterile environment, healthy food and lots of love!  We wish to give him every opportunity to overcome this horrible disease. All donations will be appreciated, no matter how big or small. Thank you in advance for your support!
