Micah's Journey - Medical Fund

Donation protected

We are here to share Micah's Journey, ask for your prayers, and raise funds to support his journey. We are friends, family, church family and coworkers who want to support this amazing family.

Micah's parents, Matthew & Misty McCorkle, were in the process of getting speech therapy for Micah when he had his first seizure in June of 2014.

From June of 2014 to June of 2015 doctors tried various treatments to get the seizures under control.

Genetic testing was ordered and on June 29, 2015 Micah was diagnosed with Late Infantile Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuncinosis which is a form of Batten Disease also known as CLN2 Disease.

Since this time, there have been many costly doctor’s visits, out of state visits with specialists, and multiple hospital visits.

Which brings us today.

Today is Thursday, August 18, 2016 and we are in the middle of the worst, most widespread  flooding event Louisiana has ever seen. Micah had been in the hospital in the PICU for a few weeks when the storm started on Thursday August 11. The McCorkle home received 2 feet of water and one of their vehicles was lost.

Micah’s immediate condition has stabilized and he is due to be discharged from the hospital within the next day or so.

With the challenges of the flood, his current hospital stay, ongoing medical expences and a possible upcoming treatment Micah could really use our help!

Those of us who have the privilege of living our lives alongside this family know the strength of their faith and character. We witness it every day and have seen it over the last few days as they deal with the unique challenge of splitting their time between the hospital and their flooded home.

We are asking that you please consider supporting Micah and his family as they get through this season of their lives.

We thank you so much!
