Community Support for Ray and Barb

I met Ray and Barb Perkowski when I began volunteering for the Monroe County Homeless Iniaitive in 2013.  They not  only founded the non-profit they have worked tirelessly helping the homeless in Monroe County over the years and continue to do so.

Ray is a disable firefighter living on disability who has been hospitalized in recent months and continues to live with a great deal of pain daily.

The home they were renting was covered in black mold and when they asked the landlord to remove it his response was to not renew their lease. 

They are looking for a new place and need help raising money for security and moving expenses.  $2,000 along  with the money they have saved will be enough to secure a new home. Currently they are sleeping in their van. 

I just don't believe that this should be the fate for two people who dedicate their lives to helping others. I'm asking help from friends and the community members to lend a hand to these folks who I know well and are my dear friends.  

Sept. 1, is approaching and we need to raise this money quickly.  We may not have much to give, however if we all give a little we can make a diffence in the lives of these two wonderful people who have given so much to help others.
