Paying it Forward

About a month ago we met Alex.  Alex is a blind man in his mid 30's that has had a pretty rough life. He was basically dropped off at Pin Oak Creek RV Park by a group of people and left there to figure things out by himself. Alex had no running water, no heat for the upcoming winter, his roof leaked every time it rained and had to cover himself up with a tarp to stay dry. When Alex had to use the restroom, he had to walk himself up to the campground bathrooms by himself in a new place that he was not familiar with. Despite all of these things, we have never heard him complain ONE time. Ever. Alex is always there with a smile to tell us good morning, ask us how our week was. At first, we all asked ourselves what do we do with this situation? Why us? Well, now I can say that in a few short weeks, I still don't know the answer to that question. I do know, that a completely blind man has opened my eyes(no pun intended) to a new set of feelings and emotions that I didn't know exists. Last weekend, Alex was given a used 2004 Travel Trailer by Travers RV in Eureka Missouri along with the help and direction of close friends of ours Michael and Katie Graham. I'm sure by now you may have seen the video that has been graciously shared and viewed across social media which we are very grateful for. However,  after getting to know Alex, we have discovered that there are many things he is in need of. The new to him camper that he is living in had a prior leak in the roof that took out the plywood subfloor. Also, Alex is in need of a small deck with a ramp so he doesn't keep falling off of the steps. These things, along with many others that will improve his quality of life do not come with a cheap price tag. All of the proceeds will go directly to him to take care of the repairs needed to the camper as well as food, medication, and medical supplies that he needs to get by. As always, we understand that not everyone can donate money and all I ask for is a simple like and a share to help spread the word. I hope that Alex's story touches other people and encourages them to get out there and find their Alex. Believe me, its a wonderful feeling
