Hi,
My name is Brooke and I am now 13 years old.
In 2007 when I was 2, my mum Amanda was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma and had 8 months of chemotherapy under Dr John Taper at the Nepean Cancer Care Centre in Penrith NSW.
Mum has now been in remission since August 2008!
When I was 7, I decided I wanted to raise money to help the patients of the Nepean Cancer Care Centre in Penrith, and to help the centre which helped my Mum. It was here that Brooke's Car Rally began.
My first Brooke's Car Rally event was held in October 2013 and I had a goal of $300 to raise. With the help and support of local people and businesses, my first event raised $7,209!
This donation was used to purchase a new ECG machine, vital in the treatment of cancer patients.
Due to the success of my event, I decided Brooke's Car Rally should be held annually.
My 2014 event was supported by Mark 'MG' Geyer and raised over $10,600 again for the Nepean Cancer Care Centre.
In 2015, Mark 'MG' Geyer was my Ambassador and I donated the $9,210 raised by my car rally event to The Children's Hospital at Westmead and their Epilepsy Research Unit.
I have raised the following in total:
2013 - $7,209
2014 - $10,671
2015 - $9,210
2016 - $13,517
2017 - $15,203
This brings my total raised and donated to over $55,000!!
