Homeless Mom With Breast Cancer
One year ago, my daughter and I lost our home. We stayed with friends trying to get back on our feet. After a few months, we were in the same position again after we had to find another place to live. I recently ran out of money after not finding stable employment, so we have been living in a homeless shelter for almost 4 weeks.
On July 22, I finally saw a doctor for what I had hoped would just be a cyst or benign tumor in my breast. After an ultrasound, a mammogram and a biopsy, I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am having chemo port installed on 8/19/2016 and I will begin 6 rounds of chemotherapy starting 8/24/2016. There will be 3 weeks in between each treatment. After the 6th treatment, which would be Dec 7th if all goes as the doctors have planned, I will be scheduled for surgery. It's likely I will have a double mastectomy. The drugs I will be given will likely keep me from ever having more children. After I have surgery, I will be going through radiation treatment for a while. The doctors have said it will be about 1 year before I am finished with this course of treatment.
I pray everyday, all day that God will remove this poison from my body and heal me.
This is a very hard time as I am the sole provider for my amazing and beautiful daughter, who has been amazingly strong through all of this. A mother never wants her child to experience pain, and this pain of our entire situation is unbearable for anyone but she is my princess warrior. I pray that I will overcome this and I will be able to see my amazing 17 year old fulfill all of her dreams .
Any amount , however small, that you can donate will help us move into a stable environment so that I can recover from this devastating diagnosis.
With all my heart, thank you for your prayers and support.
