Hello friends and family,
I've been struggling a bit in the health dept. over the past couple years and I've seen more than my share of Dentists, Doctors and lately specialist to figure out what is happening inside my body.
The results of an MRI revealed a 4.5x3.2cm cancerous mass on the right lower quadrant of my tongue. Everything sounded as if it would be an easy process but looks as if cancer can be unforgiving. After seeing the ENT surgeon we got a less than positive disposition. With the location of the tumor in the tongue the beginning treatment will be chemo and radiation. I was told that if they surgically remove the tumor a good portion of my tongue and part of the voice-box would be affected. Monday 8/15 I had a biopsy of the glands and they are scheduling an OR for the biopsy of the mass. Seems that where it is at requires me to be under a general. At this stage in the game I do not know a survival rate in my case. Only time will tell. By the way, the gland biopsy was interesting the day after. The gland on the left swelled pretty large even though they biopsied the opposing side.
Now, this is going to get expensive I'm sure and what I've already spent finds a lot of zeros in my savings and HSA accounts. The doctor has already mentioned that once treatment starts I won't be able to work for at least six months. SDI income will only be 60% and that won't even cover rent and bills I currently have. Any further doctor and hospital expenses is going to add to my debt. In other words, I have no clue how I will pay for what is about to transpire. If you decide to donate to help my cause, I will use said funds to fill in the gap.
I don't have a timeline on when I will need the dollars to pay future med bills. I do know that they will begin to mount heavily once treatment starts. I simply want to have access to your donation when that bill arrives in my mail box.
I'm thankful for each and every one no matter how much you decide to offer. I don't necessarily need a lot of one person’s money but a little from a lot of people.
