We are based at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
At this school I have met some of the most talented amateur filmmakers around, people with great passion, big ideas, and the moxie to act on them. Though our group is young, we've been granted the opportunity to produce an honest-to-goodness short film this semester, which has the potential to be the most important student-driven artistic endeavor our school has ever seen.
To my chagrin, the vast majority of people do not take the arts seriously. From painting to drama, people expect passion alone to keep artists alive. My goal is to employ a cast and crew of well-rounded, professional-level artists and craftsmen who I can give a fair compensation for their work. Not only will this standard inspire excellence among artists, but it will spread awareness for the importance and significance of the arts.
The money you donate will be used to directly pay the most talented actors, drama students, writers, singers, composers, prop builders, and make-up artists we can find. Your gift, no matter how small, will give people the chance to participate with us who might never have had the time, means, or opportunity to do so otherwise.
The sooner we meet our goal, the sooner we can begin acting with confidence in planning and recruiting our film. In the first week of school, we will be voting on a film proposal to pick up, and the more financial backing it has, the more likely it is to happen.
