SquirrelWood Equine Sanctuary

SES specializes in the care and rehabilitation of horses that were discarded by their owners. Most ended up in auctions and sadly faced the very real risk of being sold for their meat. We run a 92 acre facility with a herd of 30 horses. In 2016 we launched our Veterans Program to aid our returning soldiers with mental health issues. Our staff psychotherapist provides treatment using the rescue horses. It has been a huge success! The feedback has been amazing. We hope to expand our program in 2017 to provide treatment for more individuals and their families. All therapies are provided at no cost to the veteran. We feel they have done more than enough. It is our, the publics, chance to give back.
