Trekking4Nepal - Six Foot Track

$255 of $1,000 goal

Hi my name is James.

In April 2015 I was in Nepal trekking the Annapurna Region, having the trip of a lifetime.

Only 3 days after I returned to Australia, a series of earthquakes and aftershocks killed over 8,500 people and affected millions more.

In a bid to help rebuild, I've been Trekking4Nepal ever since. So far I have trekked over 400kms, raised more than $17,000 and inspired many of a my firends to give trekking a go in the hope they too make a trip of a lifetime to Nepal.

That said, I still have a loooong way to go toward my fundraising goal of $85,000; that is $10 for every life lost in the earthquakes.

So on Friday, August 26th me and 4 other amazing people will be trekking the Six Foot Track - a 44km trail from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves in the Blue Moutains. We aim to raise $1000 towards our overall goal.

Please give generously and show your support for rebuilding Nepal.

It feels like a bit of a dream... We've now finished the Six Foot Track, back to civilization and planning another adventure.

But not before acknowledging the fine, young gentlemen who accompanied me for the three days and two freezing nights in the Blue Mountains.

Jack Thomson, Wesley Goldspink, Jake Brown and Sam Rodgers... Thank you boys for the support, experience, and creating some lasting memories outside of your comfort zone .

It was both Jake and Sam's first multi-night trek, and to put up the performances you did... Well done! Sprinkles and Jack - although it wasn't your first rodeo, you both defeated some personal battles with injury to get over line.

In review, together we conquered 44km in the Blue Mountains, overcoming some serious inner-demons at the Eco Lodge, plus survived two of the coldest nights of our lives, and those rolling hills, which seemed to never end, will surely haunt our dreams for weeks to come.

If you're reading this, and feel anything like me lads, I hope you are sitting down, my feet and calves are smoked! That said, you are all true legends of the game.

To everyone else who might be reading this, I have some post-trek photos and videos to edit, and release to give you more indication of what it was like for us.

Trekking4Nepal are still $795 short of our goal of $1000, so if you've been following along and think our mission was impressive, sling us a donation as large or as little as you like.

Every dollar raised goes directly to my partner, REACH for Nepal Foundation where I have direct influence on where Trekking4Nepal funds are allocated in Nepal.

Thanks you for your continued support.
Full of enthusiasm before our trek

Only two days to go till we embark on our 44km journey along the Six Foot Track.

If you've never trekked before but curious, I wrote a blog about what I take with me on this sort of adventure; have a look http://trekking4nepal.com/blog/what-to-pack/

My pack should weight between 15-18Kg, so I'll become one with my pack on Friday.

Lastly, we are well under our target of fundraising $1000 for this trek; if you have a spare $10 why not throw it in the hat to show you support for Trekking4Nepal.

Cheers... Tats

Is it Monday already? OMG!

We are just 4 days away from embarking on our adventure - 44km Trekking4Nepal.

Today I am writing my packing list, inspecting the weather forecast and contacting the members of the trekking party to make sure everything is set.

I'm excited to get out doors for a multi-day trek, I haven't been on one since January earlier this year.

The Six Foot Track awaits... If you like what I'm up to please consider giving a donation today.

All proceeds raise go directly to rebuilding Nepal.
