Jim Anderson Cancer Fund

The time has come to share James Anderson's story with everyone.  Jim is my Sound Engineer Mentor. He unleashed myself 16 years ago as well as many others over the years into the Seattle Sound Engineering/Music Community.

Jim started doing sound in Seattle in 1981. He was a staple at The old Crocodile Cafe through the 90's and 2000's and transitioned to touring with The Sonics after the Crocodile's initial closure/revamp. Unfortunately his health issues cut that part of his career short as the constant traveling caught up with him, he spent time in a hospital in Boston which ultimately sent him back home to Seattle to undergo further testing at The University of WA.

Jim is a pretty private person so many of you may not know the obstacles he is currently up against.

In December of 2015, after a lot of testing, poking and prodding he was diagnosed  with Liver Disease/Liver Cirrhosis and placed on a transplant waiting list with UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing).  Routine screening then detected Liver Cancer (Hepato Cellular Carcinoma, HCC) in February 2016.

He begins his radiation treatment tomorrow, April 29, 2016 in preparation for a liver transplant slotted for approximately 18 months from now.

As I'm sure you are all aware, radiation treatment is not easy on the body and he now needs our help to stay afloat financially while he is fighting this.  He has some minimal income with a few club installs around town but will not be able to physically do what he loves and has been doing for 36 years...being Seattle's Sound Guy.

Even if you do not know Jim personally, you have no doubt enjoyed his work over the years at a venue in Seattle. Whether that be The Crocodile, Slim's Last Chance, Chop Suey, The Central or seeing The Sonics.  Maybe he made your band sound amazing, maybe you were a patron at a club and got the goosebumps from an amazing experience seeing your favorite band.  Either way now is the time to give back.

This will be an ongoing GoFundMe page throughout his treatments/recovery. All proceeds will go to Jim Anderson to help him financially while he fights this.

There are some benefits at local venues in the works as well.  As things progress I will continue with updates...

Anything helps...thanks for reading and please share!
