Adelaide University Motorsport Team
The Adelaide University Motorsport Team is an entirely student-run motorsport team which competes annually at the Australasia Formula SAE competition in Melbourne. The focus of the competition is to encourage innovation and give students real-world experience with a multifaceted project that incorporates aspects of engineering, business and project management.
Every aspect of the project is managed and run by students, from designing and assembling the car, to managing our sponsors, finances and marketing. The diverse nature of our project allows us to open this opportunity to all students, regardless of year level or degree.
The car is a single seat, rear engine, open wheel formula style vehicle, with engine size limited to 600cc. Almost all components are completely custom designed by members of the team, with students considering the cost, safety and manufacturability of their designs.
The team is also highly active in the community, raising money and awareness for several worthy causes. Recently this has seen us partnered with MS Australia, the Leukaemia Foundation, and F1 in Schools. We have participated at events such as RAA Street Smart and RoboGals, which encourages female involvement in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) subjects.
All of this innovation comes at a cost, and we are asking for your support to allow all the team members to have the freedom to design new and adventurous solutions to meet the challenges of a highly competitive competition.
