TSL on the Road 2016

Donation protected
Last summer, we decided to put our egos aside and ask you to help us take TSL to the next level. Our goal was to bring you features, interviews, training footage and behind-the scenes access from the world's top skaters, coaches and choreographers. The result was a resounding success and we remain indebted to our viewers.

With Jenny heading to law school, I have been asked by many viewers whether I will continue with TSL. The answer is 100%, absolutely yes, but I do need your help. I plan on maintaining the same filming schedule that we have always had, but as anyone who watched our botched attempt at a live stream from home knows, it is time that I upgrade some of my equipment to deliver the kind of video and sound quality our viewers deserve. The old MacBook is no longer cutting it.

Additionally, TSL has been invited by many of the sport's top coaches, athletes and choreographers to give you more in-depth access than ever before. Marie-France Dubreil and her team have invited TSL to document as Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir prepare to return to competition and face off against their training mates, the two-time World Champions, Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron. We will also check in on Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue. What is it that makes Marie-France so successful? What is her magic? The week after Labor Day, we're going to find out and share it with you.

Across the city, several of the top pairs are working to take the sport to the next level. Bruno Marcotte's pair teams are training new elements as they prepare to take on the very best in the world. Can Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford stay ahead of the field? How will Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro respond to the competition in Canada? Are Marissa Castelli and Mervin Tran going to qualify for the World Figure Skating Championships?  Who else does Bruno Marcotte have on the horizon? Is Liam Firus going to earn another trip to Worlds?

Domestically, I will be filming with many of the top skaters in the world. What are the secrets to the success of Nikolai Morozov? What makes his technique different than the technique from the teams from Michigan? What are skaters eating? How are they recovering? What are they doing to give themselves the competitive edge?

Additionally, we will be returning to East Coast skating shows to bring you performances by the sport's top stars as they perform for charity and test out their programs prior to the competitive season.

As for our regular programming, it will be difficult to fill the shoes left by Jenny's incredible on-air presence, charisma and witty banter. Her expertise has been invaluable to TSL. Luckily, numerous coaches, former athletes and choreographers have volunteered to give hosting 'This and That' a try in order to provide different perspectives, new insights, and to debate with me when they deem appropriate. It is something I believe our viewers will truly enjoy.

I remain overwhelmingly grateful for the generosity, passion, enthusiasm and heart of our viewers. I promise to continue to work to 'keep it real' for our viewers and hope that together, we can make the 2016-2017 our best season yet.
