This fall I will begin my second year of teaching 3rd grade at Harford Heights Elementary School in Baltimore City. HHES is one of the largest public elementary schools in the city, serving approximately 600 kids. Almost every student qualifies for free or reduced price lunches and there are between 25-35 students per classroom.
I am reaching out to ask you to donate to my classroom fund so I can purchase two wonderful online resources for my students and my professional development as a teacher. Flocabulary and Reading A-Z are resources that are almost unmatched in their ability to engage and support my students in the classroom. With the free trials of both sites, I was able to witness the power of these resources that promote student engagement in the form of arts integration (hip-hop videos and interactive sites), as well as a huge online leveled library to meet every possible literacy need. When reading levels in one classroom range from K-5th grade, it is imperative that I can find resources to develop ALL students' literacy.
I invite you to explore both sites and see just how awesome they are. You can see how they help me create a positive and joyful environment in classroom and foster a true love of learning. The kids have NO RECESS!!! They need movement and music. They also need books that fit their needs and that intrigue them.

Please help me be a more effective teacher by supporting this fundraiser. My students deserve these resources. Like most teachers, I am expected to fund my classroom out-of-pocket. By having these amazing online subscriptions paid for, I can use my personal funds for sufficient paper, pencils, notebooks, library books and other educational resources that I need. School starts August 29th!
