On August 1, 2016, my 9 year old nephew , Jacob Hare, was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL). We were all devastated at the news. How could such a sweet active boy who loves playing with friends, minecraft and nintendo have become so sick so quickly.
Upon diagnosis he was taken to Richland Childrens hospital where he began agressive treatment. We have learned that T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) is a cancer that affects the white blood cells. These cells fight infection and help protect the body against disease. It is one of the most common type of childhood cancers. Jacob will be in treatment for two years from his diagnosis date.
He has been through so much already over the course of this illness. He has had dozens of needle sticks, chemo, blood and platelet transfusions and who can count how many medications. He is being so brave through the bone pain and weakness that is a side effect of his treatment. He is so brave and strong and he has amazing parents by his side.
This is where we are asking for your help. To better care for little Jacob his mother, Kimberly, has stopped doing home infusions. This has significantly reduced their income as they continue to take care of two other children while adding the costs of medications and treatments along with tons of cleaning/sanitizing products due to Jacobs severely weakened immune system. We are still in the early stages of T-ALL and expenses are adding up quickly. I am hoping that we can help ease their financial struggle so Kimberly can remain by Jacobs side where he needs her most.
This is a tough time for our little guy and it is so hard to watch him struggle. But Jacob is a fighter and he will get through this! Please help Jacob kick ALL's butt. We're fighting for you Jacob!!
