Scotts Recovery/Rehab

In July, Scott was in a serious accident at the beach , which left him with a broken neck and, at least for now, without the use of his legs. He is currently in hospital while he waits for an available bed in the National Rehabilitation Centre in Dun Laoighaire.

Since then, Scott, with the support of all his family and an amazing group of friends, has begun a journey to recovery, which will be long and most likely very expensive. There are a number of things to consider going forward with this. We will have a better idea of specific costs once Scott has been transferred to Dun Laoighaire, however, future costs are likely to include:
Redevelopment of his house to make it fully accessible, after he has returned from the rehab clinic in Dun Laoighaire.
Any future equipment required, including wheelchairs, transport and whatever else Scott needs to live his life to his fullest potential
Potential future medical and/or physio treatment that Scott might require that might not be covered by his medical card

We, naturally, want to get Scott the best equipment and care for his future. Over the coming months, we will be organising a number of fundraising events to help raise money towards his future care and recovery. We will provide details of these as they arise but planned events at the moment include:
Climbing Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil
A skate competition with prizes provided
A rock gig in Dublin city centre
Many more to come.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, is appreciated. As is the continued support of all those who have been in touch since the accident and shared this campaign with their friends and family.
