If you give a Mom a kidney...

This is Heidi Brackett. She is wonderful wife and mother to three young children. Heidi was born and raised in Carbon County by her parents Rodney and Susan Scott along with 5 other brothers and sisters! While pregnant with her 3rd child she found out that she had one kidney and that it was functioning at only 25%  This would mean a Kidney tranplant in the near future. Heidi now battles with the end stages of Chronic kidney disease (CKD). This disease leaves her feeling exhausted and weak which makes being a stay at home mommy a taxing job. Taking care of her health has started to cause a severe strain on her families finances. $100 for a consult, $1,200 for blood work, $4,000 for surgeries, and the list goes on. The bills are continuing to pour in and the weight of it has quickly become overwhelming. There are only 2 ways that will  allow Heidi to live with this disease. One way is through dialysis ($70,000 per year) which is done 3 days a week for 4-5 hours at a time. The other way is to recieve a kidney transplant ($260,000+ with $17,000 per year in antirejection meds). Without the funds to do so Heidi will continue to lose what function she has left. By donating you will help lighten the load letting Heidi focus on her most important job as a mother to her three beautiful children. Heidi is constantly giving of herself at home, at her church and in her community. To have her be the one being taken care of is a gift that she well deserves.
