Please help save our family home!
Our family recently lost the rock of our family. Our father, Donald G. Arndt Jr. passed away on July 30th, 2016 after a two year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis in July 2014 and endured many surgeries and procedures. In May 2015 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Because of a superior mesentery artery block he was not a surgical candidate to remove the tumor. Due to not being able to change the outcome, he opted out of chemo/radiation so that he could enjoy the remainder of his life doing the things he loved - building things, boating, fishing, tinkering and spending lots of time with family. He found a strong, loving and faithful relationship with God along the way and was an active member at The Ridge Community Church in Greenfield,WI. He touched many lives and was so loved by all who knew him. He was very brave throughout his battle. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
In February 2016 our mother, Kim Arndt was diagnosed with T3 Invasive ductile carcinoma insitu breast cancer in her right breast. She underwent 6 grueling months of chemotherapy due to the aggressive type of cancer she had. She bravely decided to do a double mastectomy and remove both breasts in fear of having to go through all this again if the cancer was to spread. She found a surgeon that was willing to remove both breasts. July 13th, 2016 she underwent surgery and lost a huge part of herself. God led her to this choice and thankfully he did as they found cancerous cells in her left breast as well. Today, she is cancer free but will be undergoing radiation treatment.
In March of 2014 our parents were in a car accident. Dad suffered a few bumps and bruises but mom injured her knee and suffered from a broken rotary cuff and had to have reconstructive surgery to correct it. She has been unable to work since then and also has lasting neuropathy from her chemo.
On top of all the last two years has brought to our family, now our mother is facing losing her home. Due to both of them being ill, they fell behind on the mortgage and are facing foreclosure. We moved here in 1998 to a broken down farmhouse. My dad has done a lot of remodeling to the house to make it home. We have so many memories in this place - many Christmas parties, chili dumps, big bon fires, gardening, laughing, crying, singing and dancing just to name a few. This is the place where our father passed away. Right here in this house he’ll live on forever. This is our home.
Over the last two years we all have suffered many losses. Our mother has suffered the most, losing a part of her womanhood and now the love of her life. Please help us try to help her save our family home so she doesn’t lose this too. If you're able to help in any way we will be forever grateful. If not, prayers are always needed. God bless you all!
