Hello. I'm setting this account up for my brother, Mark. Last Monday, July 25, he wasn't feeling well at work. He wasn't able to swallow anything. He does custodial work at an emergency room. He talked to a doctor, and the doctor told him that he needed to check in. So, after Mark finished his work shift onTuesday morning, he checked in. He was admitted that day.
The next day, they did a scope on him. They weren't able to go all the way down, but were able to do a biopsy. On July 28, his doctor did tell him that the tumor was malignant. After this, they inserted a feeding tube, so he will be able to get some nutrients.
He will probably be discharged from the hospital in the next couple of days. We are not sure when he will go back to work.
He will have a PET scan August 5. He will have to go to treatments that are 60 miles away. This is not only a burden on him physically and emotionally, but financially.
Mark doesn't have medical insurance. He has been working part-time at the hospital since the job he had prior got closed down. He needs to buy special food for his feeding tube. While, he is in the hospital, he has been applying for an additional part-time job. I really want him to focus less on money, and more on getting better.

Edited to add: he was able to get his PET scan at a later date. Someone lent him the money to get it done. He has to pay them back. He also needs to buy/rent a portable feeding pump so he can go back to work.
