Love and Support for Baby Micah

At some point or another we all face difficult challenges when support from others makes all the difference. Julie and Michael Braatz and their newborn son, Micah James, are now in that very situation and could benefit from the love and support of others.

After a month of hospitalization and an exhausting delivery Julie and Michael welcomed their first child, Micah James into this world on April 14th, 2016. Micah was born prematurely at 34 weeks, but upon first sight Julie and Michael wanted nothing more than to enjoy their new life as a family. Unfortunately, their joy has been overshadowed by the devastating news that their baby boy has several, serious complications including the lack of development in major areas of his brain (cerebellum, brain stem, cerebrum, corpus callosum), seizures, and a cataract in his left eye. This news has been extremely difficult news for Julie and Michael to digest and each day seems to bring a different challenge.


Julie and Michael are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and support they've received from friends and family and want everyone to know how much they appreciate every kind word and prayer - so keep them coming! 

However, the road to bringing their baby home will be arduous as the extent of Micah's complications and prognosis will remain unknown for the foreseeable future.
