YAALI - Senior Research Trip!

Hello everyone!

Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Omar J. Powell and I am a senior Finance major with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance attending Howard University. During the Spring 2016 semester, I was accepted into the Young AfricanA Leadership Initiative commonly known as YAALI. This program intends to immerse students in the linguistic, political, social, and economic environment within the African diaspora. I will also have the opportunity to conduct research on the insurance market within South Africa and learn more about international insurance regulations and risks. This experience will give me the ability to better understand global risk management and ultimately I will be able to impact a sense of security in even the most difficult of environments.

I'm very excited to finish off my senior year with a trip that will be very beneficial to my career aspirations.
