The woman who has ALWAYS been there for others, needs our help.
Missy's medical condition has been elevated to a severe state that requires an increased amount and frequency of medication and doctor visits. Her whole life she has suffered from Hashimoto Disease, which is an autoimmune disease that damages the thyroid gland. Unfortunately, due to incorrect medication over the past year, it has caused Missy to go into organ failure. Her poor thyroid levels have caused her to live in a decreased mental state since October, known as Myxedema Coma, where her cognitive functioning skills are often impaired or altered. This has made it impossible for her to work.
Over a year of incorrect medication has also caused Missy's kidneys to fail and she is currently in stage four renal and kidney failure. This is a life threatening state. This Friday, 12/6/19, Missy is having emergency kidney surgery in hopes to improve her kidney function and put off dialysis and/or a kidney transplant for as long as possible. If the surgery is successful, Missy's doctor has informed her that is will take approximately six months of the thyroid medication to be in her system before her organs will return to normal functions, however this is not even a guarantee.
Last Friday, Missy applied for emergency government assistance. Unfortunately, even if she is approved, they also informed her that it will take approximately 120 days , or 4 months for the approval to go through.
Currently, Missy's out of pocket expenses, even after insurance, is somewhere between $2,000-3,000 for her emergency medication. This is not including co-pays and transportation to and from her numerous doctors visits. She desperately needs our help.
