german shepherd left for dead

my husband is the animal control officer in deer isle maine and is trying to find help for a young male german shepherd who was struck by a vehicle on the corner of north deer isle road near dow road and left for dead last evening 7/27,this animal so far is unclaimed and emergency vet bills from brewer emergency animal hospital are already at $452.00 and counting, he has limited funds in which to work with for this animal and this dog is in need of imediate help,any help would be greatly appreciated and all funds will go directly to helping this poor animal.also if anyone knows who owns this dog please contact deer isle animal control,thank you.
