Top-Surgery: Get Rid of The Rack
Thanks for visiting my gofundme page. It really means a lot to me that you're taking the time to check this out. I'm someone who doesn't really like asking for help, especially when it comes to financial situations. But this is something quite important to me.
As many of you know, the past few years I started quite a journey of becoming me. My sophomore year in high school I had came out to my family about not feeling comfortable with my skin. From that point on we visited and spoke with people who could help me. Of course, there were a few bumps on the road. There was a lot of learning and exploring for both myself and my parents. It wasn't until my senior year of high school that I was finally allowed by my parents to start hormone therapy. As of February 13, 2017 I am proud to say that I am two years on testosterone.
With a lot of personal reflection and a lot of consideration, I had finally decided to change my name. At first I was very relunctant because Alpha was such a unique name. But if I was going to go through a transition, I knew that I needed a new name that reflected who I really am. It took quite awhile for me to find the perfect fit and a name that followed my requirements of:
a) no one else I knew had it.
b) it was religious
c) it just clicks
At first, I kept picking such generic brand names. Yet, on a day of relaxation the name Noah had come up. I thought it was perfect as it was biblical, I knew no one who had the name, and it just seemed to fit very well. I also really liked the story of Noah. Noah, who built an ark to save two of every animal as God flooded the Earth for a new beginning.
To finish my long journey of molding myself to becoming who I really am, I must accomplish Top-Surgery. Top-surgery is when they remove breast tissues to flatten the chest. Occasionally, they'll remove the aeriola to reshapen it.
I will be doing my surgery with Dr. Daniel Medalie in Ohio. He is has over 20 years of experience and through many portfolios I've seen. He has done a terrific job in all of them. He, however, does not accept insurance, but compared to the other doctor and my insurance, I will be paying the same amount out of pocket. Hopefully, I will be able to get surgery done over winter break!
Top-Surgery is very important to me as my self-esteem has not been up to par. Many of you are probably questioning why I need it if I look so flat chested. I seem flat chested because I wear a binder, a nylon fabric that is tight around my torso that flattens my chest. I would like to live the rest of my life not wearing it, as it can restrict your breathing. It is also very uncomfrotable to wear, especially during the hot summer days.
From a medical stand point it is needed. With my weekly take of testosterone, breast tissue can take the testosterone in my body and turn it into estrogen. Too much estrogen can unexpectedly (and rarely) cause cancer. I would not like to take the risk. So please help me!
It will really mean a lot to me if you can donate a few dollars or so to help me reach my goal!
Thank you very much! God bless!
My comment didn't post so I'm going to write it here. I'm so proud of you!! Much love
