Adapted vehicle for Elmer

My name is Edith and I am raising money to help my cousin Elmer Stanley Martinez. Elmer was born and raised in El Salvador where he is currently still living and working. Fifteen years ago, he injured his spinal cord in an accident and can no longer walk.
He is a man with many talents, such as, carpentry, computer tech, mechanics, and so much more. He currently works as a typist in a fair labor factory that hires many handicaps and recently started going to University to become an Engineer. Elmer also plays in a wheelchair basketball league which he is very passionate about.
Elmer’s family lives in a town about 2 hours away from his work. However, his work provides a handicap residence close to the factory where their disabled employees can live in order to come to work easily during the week. Since public handicap-accessible transportation is not provided in El Salvador, it is very difficult for Elmer to go home on the weekends and go to his basketball practices. Thus, I am helping him to raise money to purchase a car. Since him and his friends know a lot about mechanics, they will adapt it in order for him to use his hands instead of his feet.
I hope we can help him because I can't imagine how difficult it is to reach your dreams without having access to a transportation.
Thank you for taking the time to read his story and I hope with all of your help we can make his dream come true.
Please don’t let his dreams stay dreams, let's make them a reality!!!!
