Bringing our Pets Home

Donation protected

We've never really been in this situation before. A situation where we've reached our absolute maximum, and the stress gets to you and you start to think the world is literally fighting against you - doing everything it can to bring you down, and you have to keep moving forward. We're asking for help, to bring our dogs to our new apartment, which is $300 per dog deposit, plus additional first months rent per dog ($25). Normally, we are not tight on money, and NO we did NOT sign up for something we were not prepapred for, we were fully prepped for this in advance however some recent things have happened that have fully changed the course of our lives. This all started Last Month.

It simply began with our car being hit while parked. We have been in the process of apartment planning, buying everything we need, our rooms are filled to the brim with furniture, new supplies, etc. We made the statement with statefarm, and they covered most of the costs minus the deductible. $500. During the time the car was fixed however I was unable to get the rental vehicle back on the same day. $200 dollars.

Once we got the vehicle back, two days later on the weekend we took the dogs out to the park as we always do! Fantastic day, pictures of the two dogs cuddling together in the back on the way home. However on teh way home something on the highway at night flew under my car and ripped out the undercarriage. No shoulder, we edged along with metal dragging in the car, me, my girlfriend. The tow truck was sheduled, a police officer came to the scene to help us off the road. We managed to get the vehicle home, and have the tow truck come pick it up from there. However - when he took it, he did NOT take it to the location he was supposed to. We received three different locations where my vehicle was supposed to be, and none of them were correct. We finally found the vehicle parked incorrectly at one of the locations, and the car was taken in for repairs. deductable, $300. We expected 500, so praise we had $200 left over. Keep in mind this is in the same week span, total spent so far if you're keeping up is $1000.

To take a break from it all, we decided lets go apartment hunting again. During that time we managed to find the perfect home! It was on the end of the apartment with  a bay window facing the elementry school and a nice neighborhood and we felt like we were in our own whole section! There just happen to be a deal going on, so we put down a deposit after doing the math and went half and half, $499. Thought we were in the clear! Turns out we also needed 150, for deposits on application which we misunderstood, so family helped with that and settled. $1,649. I decide to pick up a second job to help get us back on track.

Family gave me a little extra money, i go to put it in my bank account and pull the summary, it ate it and said iw as at -127. Turns out once again our rental company took 194 from my account. Why?! We called around turns out when they were ordered to pick up my rental car from our mechanic, they didnt do it yet and so charges built up. Its been about a week now and i still have not gotten that money back.

Next paycheck, pay two car notes - we had it moved together through our bank because of the double repairs. $340 each, 680 + insurance also moved, 140.  Total if you're keeping up is now $2,663 - we still had a whole month of savings to rebuild so we were not scared yet.

Second job paycheck comes in, I removed the debt, paid my car notes and insurance etc as stated above! Managed to put a few hundred in a savings acount leaving me with about $100 in my pocket to last two weeks which is fine on my own while we await move out date. Went to worklate Monday, 8/22/16. I get to work for about an hour and Taylor (my girlfriend, and significant other who is prepping the apartment with me, and splitting these expenses) gets this text from her mother:

We both left work immediatley, and rushed her to the vet.

This is Skye.  Shes about 5 years old, and was hit by a car on 8/22/16. There is camera feed (unseen yet will post later) of the driver hitting her, into a ditch, checking to see what it was and simply of course driving away. We found out with the neighbors having found her with her collar and calling. This picture is after surgery. She had a dislocated hip (left) , and fractured leg (right), as well various open wounds which had dirt, ants, and bleeding. We were lucky that her spine, and bladder are in tact. Total costs for this is incomplete. We have currently spent $538 for first night exam and boarding. $2210 for the actual surgery, with a remaining 540 for today the 23rd of august, with one more night left over. Remember how I said I had $100 dollars left over? Yeap. Here is how we managed to pay this.

We opened up two credit cards at the desk, with 6 months of pay off on them, with no prior rental history i got lucky and approved for $1000, they took it. I then took all the new savings we had, gave that to them, we were then put at $1400. Taylor called family, they opened a card, poured it out, total to $2000, followed by some of the neighbors havign donated about 180, and the remainder was pulled from Taylors college fund which is now split in half as she has been saving it up solo on top of bills. Our total expenses in this last month is now up to $5,951. We still do not currently have skye back. She is there until Thursday. The bills will continue to grow, and we will keep tryign to make them - so what is this gofundme for? NOT to pay our vet bills. However, the goal is help with our pet deposit and pet rent for our apartment. The due date to move in is September 1st. We will need $630 by september 1st, so we can bring both dogs to our apartment. Originally we planned to bring just one at a time, however with Skye needing to be healed at home with us - we need to bring her at the same time. The smaller white dog, Riley/Pal - has to coem with instead of staying because hes new to the family and has seperation anxiety which we are stillt raining him on and he doesnt do well alone at home without us. Even still, with a single dog, the 300 deposit isnt possible for us right now.

With your help, when Skye gets out of the hospital, we can afford to bring her to our new home and continue to help her heal and hopefully walk again with the new pins in her legs. We currently dont have anything to offer outside of updates of her condition, and we will be takign down names of anyone who has helped us thus far to do somethign special for you when we are out of this debt and settled into our new home.

Please leave a way for us to contact you, so we may thank you for helping us in this rough financial situation.
