Dover, DE Family House Fire

Donation protected

At 5:00 am on Monday, July 25, 2016, my mother's house burnt to the ground after the air conditioner malfunctioned. Her smoke detector was broken but one of my brothers (15) just so happened to be awake, smelled the smoke and was able to wake our other two brothers (ages 23 and 9) and sister (12) and save most of their cats and dog. Sadly, my sister's newborn litter of kittens were trapped in the kitchen (where the fire started) and my family lost everything save the clothes on their backs, but we're just happy that they escaped unscathed!

A low estimate of the total damage is $20,000 and I could never hope to raise thatmuch, but I hope I'll be able to do enough to replace the essentials that they lost and find them somewhere to stay before the school year starts. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated!

A huge thanks goes out to the Camden, DE Fire Department for putting out the fire in record time and saving one of the kittens from inside the house!

Thank you!
