Camilla Colon Trust Fund

It is with a very heavy heart that I created this gofundme page to benefit our four year old niece Camilla Colon. My name is Julie Colon Koriakin and my baby brother was her father.

Her father, Max Colon, died tragically in a terrible vehicle accident on July 22, 2016 at age 35.

My brother, was a young, recently divorced father. Like many young parents trying to make ends meet, he was under-insured. He was a dedicated father who was working full-time as well as taking on contract work on the side in order to provide for his daughter.

Other than a small life insurance policy, my brother did not leave the nest egg I know he wanted for his child.
When somone dies, the standard protocol is to send flowers and it is certainly the easiest thing to do, however flowers die in a few days.  They bring us temporary comfort and that comfort withers away.

Instead, I ask you to please consider making a monetary donation in memoriam, in lieu of flowers, as an expression of your love or simply because you feel inclined to something but haven’t been able to figure out what to do.

As a tightly knit family, Camilla is definitely in good hands and we will always make sure that she does not go without. However, that security will come with a sacrifice. Please help us afford Camilla the security my brother did not get the chance to provide because his life was cut short. I know it was a great concern of his and  we would like to fulfill his wish post mortem.
