Helping Elias Lebon, 13, and family

Hello and thank you to everyone that is taking time to read and partake in our endeavor to provide a little help to Elias Lebon and his family.
Elias Lebon is a 13 year old boy. He is charismatic, intelligent, strong and an all around wonderful boy. Elias is known to my family because he has been one of my sons best friends for the last 5 years. On April 20th Elias was struck by a vehicle right in front of his home as he was crossing the street. He had taken the time to go home to his grandmother and ask for permission to go play at a nearby community center. He took the time to look both ways, in fact one vehicle stopped for him. Unfortunately, another vehicle came out of nowhere and hit Elias head on. The driver kept going leaving Elias on the ground fighting for his life and our entire community holding their breath, and praying for this young man to pull through.
It is truly amazing, miraculous even, that this young man is still with us. Those of us that struggle with God and religion had no choice but to get on our knees and pray. Those that believe and hold on to their faith never faltered. Today Elias is with us but remains in the hospital. He has had a number of surgeries on his left leg, some on his right eye and the hemorrhaging on his head has ceased. It's still not certain when he will be released from the hospital, but one thing is certain...recovery will be long and extensive.
His mother and father, aunts and grandparents have been by his side through this nightmare. Everyone knows that times are hard. We all know that a working class family struggles daily. Add a catastrophe of this magnitude to the pot and things can become expensive real fast.
I hope that with this campaign Elias and his family can have some relief knowing that they can rest easy and concentrate on the important things...a full recovery.
