Paul Delp's Accident fund

As many know, Paul was in a motorcycle accident Friday July 15th about 10:30 pm. A friend was on the back of the bike when it happened (she is ok and will need surgery on her ankle). The car that Paul hit quickly turned right and crossed over one other lane before entering Paul's lane. Paul had nowhere to go but to crash into this car (T-boned). Once the impact happened Paul then flew over the roof of the car into the air and landed a few feet away on his back. While suffering from his injuries, once help arrived all he wanted was for the emergency personnel to help our friend. He had internal bleeding from the 3 different breaks in his pelvis, multiple fractures and broken bones in his left wrist and one or two breaks in his right wrist. While being rushed to Aria Torresdale as a level one trauma, Paul's blood pressure dropped but was quickly stabilized. Once he was in the emergency trauma room they began blood transfusions, listed as in critical condition, his blood pressure crashed again. The trauma team quickly rushed him up to perform a procedure to stop the internal bleeding. The team finally stopped the internal bleeding around 4 am Saturday morning. Paul went through surgery Saturday afternoon to have rods placed in his left arm and a "cage" placed to stabilize his pelvis. Thursday 7/21, Paul went through another surgery for his pelvis and placed rods, plates, pins and screws internally that he will have forever. He will undergo another surgery set for Tuesday 7/26 to place rods, plates, pins and screws internally in both wrists. He cannot put any pressure on his pelvis for the next two weeks then he will be wheelchair bound for 2 or 3 months. After his arms are healed, he might be able to and try to start therapy of learning how to walk again. His recovery may take 6 months to a year. For the people who do not know Paul, he has been a volunteer fire fighter since he was 16. He started volunteering at Langhorne-Middletown and then found his home at Trevose Fire Company. He is the first person to give his shirt off his back and would help anyone who needs his assistance. He has two children, Paul III (16) and Amelia (8 months). He loves them both with all his heart. All the money that is raised will go towards keeping his home so he has a place to go back to so he can finish healing once released from the hospital/rehab. Keeping his home is one of his biggest worries and by raising as much money as we could, he will not have to worry where his son will go to school or worrying about a place for him to live.  He is very thankful for all his friends and family that have been praying for him and coming to visit.
