Fight the White: Landon's Journey

Donation protected
A parent's absolute worst nightmeare found us on July 14, 2016 when we visited a Retinoblastoma team @ UCSF to confirm a diagnosis of Retinoblastoma, a very rare (1 in 20,000) cancer of the eye affecting young children. Our 21 month old beautiful, sweet, loving little angel Landon Jay had tumors growing on both his left and right eye meaning he had the hereditary form of the cancer! We were in complete shock, how could this be? How could our son have had this cancer growing in his body since birth and we never knew? The sleepless nights began our minds could not stop wandering and questioning Why? And How? this could be!

Our road for treatment is just beginning and we just received news that this is going to be a long and painful journey ahead for Little Landon and our family. Every single doctor, friend, and family were hopeful and prayed that Landon had just one tumor in one eye that would be treated with a procedure of 'enucleation', the removal of the eye! Every doctor had predicted that this was Landon's case, he only had a 15% chance that it could go the other way. Well, God had another plan. We were all wrong.

Now the plan for treatment is an alternating combination of chemotherapies that will be injected into Landon's body every 2-3 weeks to try to fight off the growing tumors. The doctor's are buying us a little time to see if we can save his right eye! We may still need to proceed with enucleation, we have a 50/50 chance.

Up until this point, we have asked
For nothing expect for hopeful and faithful prayers for our little one. We are praying to see God's purpose and also for his gracious hands to perform miracles in healing Landon. We never wanted to fathom asking for anything tangible, and definately not money! At this point, we are not only going to battle the cancer but also battle the cost of treating it!! Undergoing chemotherapy is going be very costly with copays, and our
Share of cost for MRI's, hospitalization, genetic testing, chemotherapy treatment, intensive eye exams, general anesthesia as well as travel expenses to UCSF weekly, bridge tolls, parking, food, and potential loss of employment as Landon can no longer attend daycare due to the compromised immune system we will need to protect. We want to focus mostly on killing this disease and making this as
Pain free for Landon as possible: the burden of possible sale our home, obtaining a loan, or finding other financial means is not one we can focus on yet.

Many family members have offered to set up an account to seek funds, but we have refused! We felt that if we were going to go through with this, it needed to come from us.

Prayers are the most important for our family, but if you find it In your hearts and it is comfortable for your financial situation, we would be very
Grateful for financial assistance from anyone who can help contribute to Landon's costly road to recovery!

Please repost, share, and raise awareness of Retinoblastoma to save a Child's life! Thank you so much In advance for all the love, support, and prayers.
