On Valentine’s Day 2014, a day for celebrating love and kindness, Elizabeth Payton received a diagnosis of colon cancer. Elizabeth is a wife and a mother, a family member and a friend, a baseball mom and an oncology nurse. She is truly one of the kindest people anyone could know. She began her journey as a nurse in 1997 to help others and be a blessing to those in need. She is the best kind of people.
Liz and her husband have been married for 16 years. They have two wonderful children, a daughter Olivia who is 12 and a son Austin who is 9. When asked about hobbies, Liz identifies time hanging out with her family as first on the list. She and her family enjoy being on the water, fishing, swimming, shopping, baseball, volleyball and hunting. Liz and her husband are part of the close-knit community in Frankfort, KY. They are friends to many people.
The friends, family and co-workers of Elizabeth Payton are asking for your help. After 2 ½ years of many different treatments, the cancer has aggressively progressed to stage 4 and has spread throughout her body. Her doctor is looking at treatment options but many of them are expensive and in addition to the treatments Liz has already received. Both Liz and her husband Darren have been taking time off from work to travel to treatments and doctor appointments. Expenses and out of pocket costs are continuing to add up.
Now is the time for us to be a blessing to this very deserving family. We are hoping to help this amazing family enjoy their precious time together. We want to relieve some of the stress of doctor bills and would love to send them on a family trip to make some very lasting memories for their children, Olivia and Austin. Any amount is appreciated and will go to one of the most caring, loving, giving families. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
