Bentley's Brave Little Battle

Bentley was born on February 28, 2016 to Alyssa and Adam. The week Bentley was born he was diagnosed with a heart murmur. After an echocardiogram it was discovered that he had patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). The PDA is a vessel that connects two arteries (the pulmonary artery and the aorta). The ductus arteriosus normally closes shortly after birth so the doctors were just going to monitor his weight and keep a check on him.
During his time at home he encountered troubles with eating because he was working too hard to breathe.
On 4/13 after a visit with Bentleys pediatrician he was admitted to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Bentley needed to be checked out at the hospital because he was not gaining weight like he should be. He was also having heart and liver issues. It was later determined that his ductus arteriosus was not closing and it was actually getting larger which put him into heart failure. They placed a NG tube for feeding in and began extra feeds to try and bulk Bentley up. It was decided after numerous tests to surgically close the open ductus. Bentley had surgery on 4/19. The surgery went well but he is still showing some pulmonary hypertension and still remains on some medication and oxygen at Geisinger. While in the hospital it was also discover that he has some smaller issues that need to be resolved once this major one has been taken care of. He will have to undergo another surgery to remove a hernia once everything with his heart is ok.
His parents have been spending as much time as they can at the hospital with him. They have been staying in a hotel so they can be near him since he is currently in the nicu and does not have a room they can stay in with him.
We are asking for donations to help them out with the extra expenses they will be facing. Any little bit helps and as one of there good friends I want to thank you for anything you can give to help them. Let's all keep this little guy in our prays that he continues to get better. Thank you again.
