Alan Handsman Road to Remission
To top it off now the school district has taking bussing away from his daughter Jade and they are trying to get it back from an unfair district. They now have added stress of a calling list for emergency rides for their daughter. Some of the Money donated will also be used as an emergency fund for Jades transportation (just in case)!
Alan has a road ahead of him and his community should support him as he has for the New City Fire Department for the past 25 years!
Alan had his three month post op appt. for his stem cell transplant. They feel stem was not a complete success and it's just a matter of time when cancer returns. They expect his will return faster than most who have transplants. Dr. Michelle Dinato feels the only way to go for Alan is a Donor transplant. He will go into world donor bank probably in September after some more testing. It can take up to three months to find a match. Dr. Dinato said there is an 88 % chance of survival rate for a remission of 6 years. The other option is Chemo until it doesn't work anymore and quality of life will not be great. Alan wants to do donor which will be a six month commitment. There are many things that can go wrong such as rejection, infections, pneumonia, etc. but we both feel God has got us! Expenses will be astronomical . His life is priceless. ❤️
