I know how wary a lot of people are of these gofundme campaigns. It seems like more and more often, they're created by people who are just taking advantage and looking for a quick fix. This is not one of those times. I don't like accepting handouts, and I never ask for help unless I have no other options. Unfortunately, that's where I'm at right now. My back is against the wall, and I have to ask for help...
My first baby, a super active little man, is due August 31st, and I have to be able to take time off from work. Until yesterday, I thought that disability would cover enough of my income to do so. I was unaware that my disability would be paid based on my highest paying quarter from April 2015 to March of this year. During that time I was making practically nothing. I haven't worked at my current job long enough to get any assistance from my employer, and I do not qualify for any other government assistance. Therefore, any time I take off will be essentially unpaid.
Based on my monthly bills, and depending how much time I take off, I would need approximately $3,000-$5,000 to stay on top of everything while I'm out of work. I have nowhere I can cut corners. They are all bills that have to get paid somehow. If I cannot raise enough money, I will not be able to take time off work. I'll have to work right up until my due date and return absolutely as soon as I'm physically able.
Please help me have time to recover and bond with my little one. Any size donations are absolutely welcome, and if you are unable to donate, please at least share the campaign with others.
