please help prevent us from closure
Here at LCHPR we take in abused, unwanted, and neglected horses and ponies, rehabilitate them, and give these wonderful animals a second chance serving as therapy animals and rehabilatatos.
Children and adults with disablilies come to our farm to experience the healing power of our equines. They groom them, feed them, and even ride them, and thus are given the opportunity to bond with these animals. We also have foster groups, school groups, and local children from our community that come to visit us. We also run many educational programs to teach individuals everything they need to know about proper horse care. We work with senior homes and autistic chidren and we do not charge.
The world of horses is expensive and requires special skills. Because of this, many are denied the opportunity to become involved with them. Our sponsorship programs give people the opportunity to have the experience of being with these animals without the incredibly high cost of owning them. Our facility allows anyone, despite their income or experience level, the benefits of being with a horse or pony.
Our main mission is to educate our community about these amazing animals in the hope that this teaching will one day end the need for horse rescues.
We also aim to give horses and ponies a safe and happy home where they can recover from injury and neglect and learn to trust people again, and insure that they never have go through the same hardships again.
The money raised will help with our substatial daily expenses including food, bedding, chronic medications, surgeries needed and regular verternarian check ups.
Any farmers, businesses or coperation ect who can donate soft hay, or grain will get a tax receipt.

I and my family have been involved with this rescue and I assure everyone, that this operation is a wonderful, legitimate rescue and I challenge you Theresa to prove other wise... Be careful the vicious lies that you spread.. you may find your self in a law suit for defamation I assure you!
Thanks to everyone that posts and shares or donates to our Rescue. For everyone's information...don't believe everything you hear, read or see. The social medias are often sources of misinformation. There has never been a case of abuse or negligence at the Last Chance Rescue. Three horses have left us after dealing with old age or uncontrolled issues. The SPCA has been at our Rescue and even had to house two abused ponies that they entrusted to Last Chance. We look forward to seeing anyone at anytime to volunteer or donate their expertise .
We have been supporters of Sharon and the Rescue for the past 4 years...the animals are well cared for and loved. We personally sponsor Lucky, Noell and now little Malackay...their story has been well documented by news organizations all over Southern Ontario. If Sharon and her Team had not stepped in the day the two were dropped off the story would have been much much worse. Please keep this a positive event. The support and help is so needed to keep the Rescue operating .
The two Nay Sayer ladies crack me up. Anyone who truly knows this organization or who has been at the barn knows otherwise. Sharon please don't let negative Nillies stop you and your volunteers from doing the great work that you do! I can speak first hand from being at your barn and your various events how amazing you all are. Do not waste any energy worrying about the uneducated. Karma will handle them! Please keep doing the great work. What you and your family sacrifice to do this great work is truly amazing!
I am proud to be a volunteer for such a wonderful organization. I have been a volunteer and friend of Sharron Allens for three years and I can say I have never met a more kind and caring person. Believe me Last Chance Horse and Pony Rescue is a legitimate government registered charity. They do amazing work caring for the animals which are also looked after by a dedicated veterinarian if you question thier well being. I think that it is a terrible shame that some certain people would try to slander thier name.
I have known Sharon Allen for four years and have worked as a volunteer with my husband at the Last Chance Horse & Pony Rescue & Sanctuary. Throughout the years we have not only worked at the Rescue with other loyal volunteers providing assistance in caring for the Horses and Ponies and maintenance on the facility but also as significant fundraisers for annual Rock n Rescue and Rock n the Barn benefits. During this time we have come to know Sharon as not only an excellent caregiver for the Rescue but also a manager of the facility from morning to night seven days a week. Sharon has a solid foundation in animal care and always puts the Rescue before her own personal needs. It is unfortunate there have been some unkind and untrue comments posted by spiteful persons. Shame on you for trying to destroy the Rescue. Will you give these horses a forever home and care....probably not as you have never even been to visit let alone volunteer your time! Please do not let these kind of people deter you from showing you care and support our GofundMe campaign. Come out and visit the Rescue to see for yourself and the improvements we have made. ....thank you
Correction: our veterinarian will be at the Rescue Wednesday, July 20th at 11:30/noon to address any questions or concerns you may have concerning the well being of our horses and ponies. Theresa Gilligan, Kelly Bennett and Amber Booker hope to see you there so you can see firsthand how well our horses are! Thank you
