Alexa and Cooper hike the PCT

When we first met, it was far from love at first sight. I was fighting off a bad case of strep throat and in the Mississippi heat trapped in a ten-hour training about corregated metal pipes, Cooper's attempts to socialize were irrationally irritating.
Once past that rough start, Cooper and I built a strong friendship and later a relationship from a mutual passion for travel and a firm belief in the power of volunteerism. Together we worked at a volunteer fire department in Arizona, traveled to over thirty states in less than a year and a half, moved our lives up to the Northland, and continued to pick up new hobbies as we explore life together.
We're dreamers and explorers, and this upcoming year we're dreaming bigger than ever. It's been a goal of ours to hike the Pacific Crest Trail and we've finally found a compatible partner willing to rough it together, through the grime and filth of 2,650 miles of trail.
Any money we receive will go directly towards helping us accomplish this next milestone in our lives, whether that's in collecting the remaining gear we need, putting together our food supply, or funding the emergency needs that arise while we're out in the wilderness.
And in return, we're asking that anyone who donates also sends us a message with a social cause important to them. For every donation we receive, we'll donate our time in honor of you to an organization who supports that cause. After all, one of the foundations of our relationship was built off of volunteerism and we would love to give back to a cause important to you to show our gratitude for your support.
Our plan is to head out to the West Coast April of 2017 to start our epic journey. We will be updating our progress here and on my blog:
