Charlie's Cranial Helmet awareness

Please don't think you have to donate I  Will  be so happy if people can read and share. . Charlie is 16months old, and was born with overlapping plates in his skull. We knew at 6 weeks old it wasn't right and have been fighting for a diagnosis .The plates have stayed overlapped and have caused him to have an abnormal head shape.  Charlie's head is in the severe category , with treatment they are hopeful to get it back into mild/moderate range which would be amazing, Charlie needs to wear his TIMband (helmet) for 23.5 hours a day. Without treatment will cause Charlie further problems in the future with his health and could affect his development. Also without treatment his head will continue to grow in an abnormal shape and plates will continue to be overlapped, this will also prevent Charlie from being able to wear cycle helmets, hats , glasses in the future. Charlie needs treatment Until August and unfortunately this is not available on the NHS even if a child is required to have this treatment from a specialist, they just do not fund this type of treatment  anymore. The total cost of the TIMband he has to wear is £2100. We have paid the Amount for the helmet to be ordered and Charlie will be fitted with this on Tuesday 3rd of May. We will be doing lots of little fundraisers and any money we raise will be put towards Some of the treatment and a self run Charity called Cranio Ribbons which is a charity that raise awareness for Craniosynostois. Charlie's brother Shae his cousin Shianne, family and friends will be also be getting sponsored as they really want to be a part of this and to also help raise some money for Charlie and also Cranio Ribbons.We would like to raise awareness that an abnormal head shape is not always normal, paediatricians and specialists can't offer this treatment so parents are not always made aware that there is a problem with their child's skull plates .We appreciate any support and we are also supporting the amazing Cranio ribbons. We will keep updating on any fundraising events. No matter how small or the amount we raise every little helps and would  love to help an amazing cause ( Cranio ribbons) This page can be used for sponsors for the children for their events that they are going to be doing.
