Hello everyone,
Baby Hayden Josephine Bell was born on March 14th 2016 to Tom and Allie Bell. Although she was born only weighing 4lbs 12oz, she seemed healthy, and was loved to pieces by Tom, Allie and their family and friends. But, on May 16th, she was admitted to the hospital due to respitory problems. Baby Hayden fought for her life in the insuing weeks, and worked her way out of the PICU. Last week she again went into respiratory distress and returned to the PICU. However, as Tom and Allie constantly and consistantly expended every ounce of their strength, they learned that Baby Hayden was diagnosed with Leigh's Disease. It is a genetic diesase that affects 1 in 10 million children and begins showing symptons within the first few months of life. This rare genetic disease will likely end her short life way to early. Tom and Allie have decided to take her home to spend the last months/years with baby Hayden, however, she will need round the clock care.
The money you donate today will be used to tackle the giant hospital bill, as well as constant home nursing care and medical necessities that she will need. Tom is a teacher at Limestone Community High School and Allie is in nursing school and a CNA at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. With the amount of love and attention Baby Hayden needs, they will need to take more time off of work to stay vigilant for their little angel.
This money will need to be used as soon as possible. Tom and Allie are hoping to get Baby Hayden home as soon as possible, and the home medical necessities will need to be in place. Our goal is to allow Tom and Allie to spend time with Baby Hayden at home and not worrying about medical bills. They don't know exactly how long they have with her, but this money will ensure that they will be able to spend every last moment with her, they deserve it and so does their little Angel!
