The Minuteman (Modular Aggression Negation) System is a shield comprised of interlocking bullet-resistant plates. The plates are capable of folding up into a profile small enough to fit into a backpack, or be placed in a strategic location, such as under a table or chair, or in an emergency container. The design is simple, and allows for either bulk standard protection, or modularity geared towards each individual user. The plates can be swapped out for different sizes, weights, and protection levels. Although level III (Protection from common rifle calibers) is recommended for all users. 

With your help, I expect to be able to create a system truly capable of saving lives. Your contributions will go toward legal fees, purchasing adequate tooling and space for creating these shields, as well as research and development into making advancements in safety measure for the system. Through R&D I intend to create more lightweight and affordable systems for people to be able to protect themselves. I believe that these systems could be outfitted with emergency transponders, so that any time they are deployed, your location can be pinpointed, and the appropriate response sent your way. The central plate is also able to be fitted with a bullet resistant glass window, so that you can clearly see what's on the other end of the shield. For those who may have trouble holding the device, certain mobility systems could be added to aid in movement, such as wheels or bearings in order to relieve some of the stress from the user. With your help, I can make this vision of a more protected world possible.

I believe that even the psychological angle of this system will, in essence, create a safer environment for all. World tragedies, as of late, have been targeting locations of least resistance. Coward aggressors tend to target people with weapons that they cannot fight back against en-masse. Schools, concerts, and bars, just to name a few, have been targeted due to lack of armed resistance and security. I believe that this happens for a reason. These locations are attacked because the aggressor believes that they will not face resistance. I believe that if enough of these shields were in the hands of the public, these pathetic human beings would think twice before attacking people, as they know they will face real resistance. The best offence, is a good defense, and the best way to stick it to these madmen, is to let them know that you are well protected.

I was inspired to create this system after the attack in Orlando, as I am absolutely disgusted at the carnage taking place in the modern world. From my video, I know I referenced that I did not want to be political with this campaign. There is a lot of discussion over firearms in the United States, and especially the world. I believe that firearms regulations are only as good as they sound on paper. Regulations were not able to stop the events in San Bernandino, in Paris, the list goes on. Do I think that regulations won't help combat the epidemic of violence in the world? Absolutely not. I am not here to argue that. This is not a case for, or against weapons. I believe that if someone wants to harm someone, they will find a way. Of course we should consider restricting the ease in which they find a way, but consider the fact that Omar Mateen, the Orlando Shooter, was a licensed security guard, who passed all forms of checks and was allowed to carry a firearm, even after being suspected of terrorism by the FBI two times. I am not arguing that legislation won't make us safer, but no laws will make us 100% safe. I am not saying that my Minuteman shields will make us 100% safe, but they sure would come in handy when scum of the earth decide not to obey the laws. I would much rather have a means of defense between myself and an aggressor, than a piece of paper. I think that others may feel this way too.

Additionally, it should also be noted that this shield isn't just to defend yourself against mass shootings. This shield was created for aggressor negation. This device could prevent stabbings, muggings, and even rapes. Being able to put a legitimate form of defense between yourself, and an attacker, can go a long way, once they realize that there is a considerable amount of steel they have to go through to get to you. 

In conclusion, I believe that these shields can truly save lives. This is not a self defense weapon. Rather, this is the best possible protection against the weapons of the modern world. Around the globe, people need to be protected. Whether it's in the American suburbs, to the tough streets of Chicago, to the wartorn countries of the Middle-East, the Minuteman will be there to protect you, in a moment's notice.
